ABOUT THE ARTIST

Kawsar Ahmed is an Manchester based artist. His love for art started from a very young age, in primary school he would draw comic and street fighter characters, his natural attention towards drawing grew further as the years went by.

Art has been a lifelong companion – firstly attaining top grades for his art at high school and later going on to do foundation diploma in Fine Art and completed his Bachelors of Arts degree in Graphic Design in 2005.

Kawsar Ahmed creates expressive abstract art through the use of bold, vivid colours, stunning motifs and powerful mark making.

An infusion of exotic, exploding acrylic colours, dancing and swaying. Once settled on the canvas come together with perfect composure and harmony.

His inspiration comes from a deep love for the rich history of the Eastern World.

He is drawn to learning history, pondering and taking lessons from monumental movements of social change.

Most curious to him is the ever-evolving beauty of humans. Their ability to survive and triumph through heartbreaking circumstances and horrific events. All the while still continuing to live on, with hope.

Through his art, movement and life are created using mixed media. Bold and confident use of texture, shapes and lines – each hold their place.

Alike to human beings. All living as one with complexities, layers of cultural history, existing side by side on this planet.
His love for art is life long and one that will stay with him for as long as he has hands that can move and a mind that can dream.

Painting abstract art remains a big part of his life. Today he creates original abstract paintings for homes, businesses and exhibitions. He’s been recently featured on BBC 1 for season 2 of ‘Home is where the art is’ and went on winning one of the final commissions.

He’s work has been exhibited in Mauritius International Art Fair and more recently at Istanbul International Art Show.
